You have to get soap from the employee and they always pour it
Unless you ask for assistance the employee is not doing anything. Soap fabric softener and bleach all go into the top compartment prior to putting the coins in. It should be a rubber fold back flap or plastic lid on the top of the washer that has three compartments one larger for detergent smaller for bleach and another one for fabric softener. The area in each of the compartments gets washed in by the machines opening of the compartments underneath and driving water through to bring all the detergents in or the fabric softeners or the bleaches.
The employee does not have to pour the soap - you can bring your own earth-friendly soap but you should check with the employee to make sure your soap is approved for their machines. The soap goes in before the washer starts.
