I recommend reservation if you want to be seated inside the main restaurant. They do have a nice set up with tables and such around the bar area when you walk in that I believe you don't really need to make a reservation for and you can order off the same menu as the restaurant.
Recommendation is a good idea.
When we went they were actually all booked up, but they will seat you at the bar to wait or dine too. It was still pretty nice!
I would also recommend a reservation. We had one and got there early and they were able to seat us early.
I would recommend one, I don't know if it is really necessary during the week, but definitely on the weekend.
