How heavy is the axe you throw?

I would say much lighter than throwing a bowling ball if that helps.

Our house axe has a 1.25 LBS axe head on a hickory handle that is about 14" long. The entire thing is about the size of a hammer and weighs less than 2 LBS. We use the same axe in every lane and do not allow patrons to bring their own axes unless it is during our league nights.

Maybe like 3 to 5 pounds...
