We seriously had the best time and your staff are all wonderful. HUGE shout out to the chick that danced and sang with us when she gave us our tutorial. She made the night that much more fun.

We went for a small date night as beginners, and had an absolute blast! The employees were extremely helpful in teaching us one on one how to improve our individual throwing techniques and we saw improvement immediately! They also have games on an iPad to help with point guides and to keep track of scoring with a goal in mind.

Questions & Answers

Do you sell food?

Amy Miller | Nov 7, 2020
Dueling Axes | Axe Throwing Bar | Nov 7, 2020

We do not sell food, but we do allow all guests to bring in any food they want to as part of our BYOB and outside food friendly policy. In addition, several of the local bars and restaurants will deliver their full food menu, bottled/canned beer, and full bottles of wine directly to you at your lane while you're throwing. All for no delivery fee. We have these menus available to our guests at each throwing lane. Restaurants that deliver in are The Walrus, Pecan Penny's and Late Night Slice. In addition to these restaurants, other area restaurants, such as Dirty Franks and Side Bar will also cater in for larger events.

Do you have parking lot?

mary grant | Oct 31, 2022
Dueling Axes | Axe Throwing Bar | Oct 31, 2022

At our Downtown location we don’t have our own parking lot, but there are meters throughout the area ($1/hour with a 3 hour max). Some side streets have cheaper options if you’re willing to walk a block or two. There are also several surface parking lots and garage options (Main St./4th St., Cherry/4th St. and 3rd St./Cherry)

How are you ensuring social distancing?

Charlotte Poindexter | Nov 7, 2020
Dueling Axes | Axe Throwing Bar | Nov 7, 2020

In conjunction with providing a lane buffer between all reservations, we’ll be rearranging our table/seating spaces and common areas in an effort to maximize distance between groups. Included in that effort will be designated group throwing areas marked on the floor and with physical barriers where you and your group can be more relaxed. Additionally, as always at Dueling Axes, all reservations will remain private and we will never pair you up with another group. Guests will also not be allowed to linger in the common areas.

Are you providing hand sanitizer for guests?

Rob Beck | Nov 7, 2020
Dueling Axes | Axe Throwing Bar | Nov 7, 2020

Absolutely. We have sourced locally produced hand sanitizer and will have it available at all throwing lanes and throughout the common areas.

Are you requiring customers and/or employees to wear face masks?

Devine Meets Turnow | Nov 7, 2020
Dueling Axes | Axe Throwing Bar | Nov 7, 2020

Employees will be required to wear face masks during their entire shift. All guests will be required to have a face mask with them, but will only be required to wear it during check in and when they are not in their designated throwing area. While guests are in their designated throwing area and not interacting with our staff they are free to take them off to eat, drink and socialize.

Can we take pictures while throwing?

Erik Andersen | Nov 7, 2020
Dueling Axes | Axe Throwing Bar | Nov 7, 2020

Yes, and we encourage you to do it. Axe throwing is super fun and we hope you take lots of pictures and video to remember your time with us. Helpful tip, "slo-mo" video and Boomerang video work extremely well to capture the fun. You can also feel free to ask your coach to snap a shot of your entire group. Happy throwing!

Dueling Axes | Axe Throwing Bar | Nov 7, 2020

How heavy is the axe you throw?

Sage Andersen | Nov 7, 2020
Joshua Cattrell | Nov 7, 2020

I would say much lighter than throwing a bowling ball if that helps.

Jim Victor | Nov 7, 2020

We sure do, and they are really fun! We host a league every season (4 a year). They are 8 weeks long and are played in a two-person team format. Each week players will participate in a bracketed, round-robin style league of friendly competition, plus a weekly rotating skills game. Teams are co-ed and cost breaks down to just $15/person/week. Winners will be named Dueling Axes League Champions, receive top bragging rights, Dueling Axes t-shirts, hats, socks and individually engraved, custom trophies. you can get more information here: https://www.theduelingaxes.com/league-sign-up/

Do you have an age minimum?

Dawn Ace | Nov 7, 2020
Dueling Axes | Axe Throwing Bar | Nov 7, 2020

Hi Dawn, we don’t have a specific age limit but we recommend that younger throwers be at around 10-11 years old to make sure they have what it takes to stick an axe to the target. To date our youngest thrower has been 5 years old. Any throwers under the age of 18 will be required to have a parent or guardian with them who is legally able to sign their liability release. Additionally, throwers 13 years old or younger should have their legal guardian present while throwers between 14-18 years old just need an adult present. If you have additional questions we are happy to discuss and can possible make exceptions for certain circumstances. We're happy to discuss if you call 614.221.1600. Hope that helps.

How many players fit on a lane?

Dakota Bordner | Nov 7, 2020
Dueling Axes | Axe Throwing Bar | Nov 7, 2020

Hi Dakota, great question. We will put up to 6 people on a single lane. If your group has more than 6 people our reservation software will automatically put you and your group on two lanes that are side-by-side. Most importantly, we promise to never pair you and your group with others that you don't know. So whether you are a having a date night of two participants, or you show up with a whole group of friends, you will throw together. We also have group rates and depending on the amount of people you have in the group, the appropriate amount of lanes will be assigned to your reservation to accommodate all players. If you have any additional questions please feel free to call us at 614.221.1600.

How long does a reservation last?

Jim Kish | Nov 7, 2020
Dueling Axes | Axe Throwing Bar | Nov 7, 2020

Our most popular reservation times last 1- or 2-hours. Keep in mind that at Dueling Axes all of the safety and technique training is provided to your group before your reservations time starts. That means you get your entire 1- or 2-hours of actual throw time to play games and have fun. Many other facilities advertise longer reservations but then use your time to taker care of training. We also have full facility buyout group packages that last between 3-4 hours.
