The $40 is well worth it.
No it doesn't cost anything to hike up the mountain but the train ride and to take the cable car to the top of the mountain it cost for everything else parking and the arm bands for the day cost 75 dollars for everythingit cost and the cable car cost another 10 dollars to ride to the top of the mountain if you pay for the arm bands
