Theres no advance notice for the tour, and I cant remember the exact price but it couldnt be more than $20 for two seniors, its a very lovely place to visit.
It's well worth seeing and the tour guides are top notch. I recomend their special holiday tours. In the fall they do a combined tour with Berkely and Edgewood . Worth doing.
It's way over priced... better value is at the Berkeley Plantation. If you're coming and going from Williamsburg, I highly recommend having lunch or dinner at the Indian Trails Restaurant. It's right on Route 5 on your way back from the plantations. It looks like a farmhouse. The food is excellent.
Advance notice is not required but you can purchase tickets on the website or at the gift shop. Tours cost $25 per person and senior rate is few bucks cheaper. Hope this helps!
