I have a substance abuse disorder and have found marijuana helps& prevents me from using other harder drugs, particularly opiates, which I was Rx after a bad wreck hurting my back. I'm in recovery and obviously cant take narcotics. Would I qualify?

What state do you reside? If you are in Maryland, you will definitely qualify, you will need to bring your existing prescription bottles and/OR a note from your last visit from your doctor. Some may be able to get on your patient portal and print these out.
