if someone is on disability how do they get the tax exemption. Where do they go, and what proofs do they need? Do they get refunded for all the taxes they have paid since they got on disability?

I did this abt wk ago. Fill out app, copy of Driver License, proof of disability onset, proof still currently being received. I was told they can go back 2yrs if requirements met.
