Yes have to use the tram
The Mountaineer Sky Ride is a round trip open-air chairlift that provides spectacular views of the Zoo, Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado Springs and the Eastern Plains. You will soar over popular Zoo exhibits such as Rocky Mountain goats, My Big Backyard, Asian Highlands and Rocky Mountain Wild. This is the only way for you to get to the summit overlook. If you disembark you are able to: *Relax on a bench and takin the breathtaking vistas. *Enjoy the specially designed playground and bouldering wall with the kids. *Grab a snack or drink at Mountaineer Market (available seasonally). *Seek shelter from the unpredictable Colorado weather in an authentic yurt. After enjoying the overlook, you continue your round trip ride back down the sky ride to enjoy more scenic views and the zoo! ***Access to the Zoo is not available from the summit of the Sky Ride Mountaineer. You are NOT permitted to walk back down.***
The tram is the only way up or down to be honest. However if you ask, they may call a bus for you. Especially if you get up there and do not want to ride back down. You can ask.
You can walk up the walkway with your lil one's. Have Fun!!🐯🐨🐫🐑🐒
I'm sorry, but riding the Sky Ride is the only way to reach the overlook at the top. The good news is that there are other play areas in the main part of the Zoo, as well as snack options there, as well. You and your little ones will still have a very full Zoo experience, even if you're not comfortable riding the Sky Ride.
Yes there >'s a walk up to the top.
You have to ride the tram to get to the top. There isn't a path.
