This zoo was nice. The best part of it was that it was literally on a mountain side. The view was amazing and peaceful. Make advanced reservation on a weekend because when we got there it was sold out until 1pm. Then it rained at like 4pm. I would have liked to spend extra time there. The parking lot line was long- but worth it.

It’s a wonderful and different experience to visit this zoo because we could see the nature by different way including the surrounding scenes from the peak, kids could enjoy by touching and feeling the s animals even some birds we could see in their big rooms. Sky Ride was a different experience with all these attractions. This was a fun for all ages. At least 3-4 hours of time then we could enjoy more. Please do visit here too if you are planning to visit this city. It’s not expensive and the Sky Ride ticket is just dollar 5 for round trip for adults.

Good Zoo. Lots of up hill walking so wear good shoes. It’s windy on the mountain so a jacket might be good to. There is coffee at the Cozy Goat. The “Loft” has reptiles, I thought it was a restaurant from the outside. There is a lot to see but can be done in a few hours. Look at the website for scheduled feedings and animal encounters before you go. Like wolf feeding at 11:00 penguin feeding at 3:15. The morning is less crowded. There is is another attraction to see while you are at the Zoo! The Shrine of the Sun is located above the Zoo, your Zoo ticket includes admission to the Shrine of the Sun. Shrine closes at 4pm so you will want to make sure you leave time for this. Or go before you go into the Zoo. There is a drive up gate to the left of the main Zoo entrance and you drive to the little shack and show your Zoo ticket. Then you can drive up to the Shrine through the Zoo. This is the only way to get there. The Zoo doesn’t advertise this at all. Also your Zoo ticket is good for 2 weeks for the Shrine. If you have 4 people in the car you need to show 4 Zoo tickets, and i believe if you are a member of the zoo your annual pass works for the Shrine too.

This is one of the best zoos I’ve ever been to and I consider myself a zoo enthusiast as I usually take a day to visit the zoo anywhere I go. This zoo is a special place nestled into the mountains it’s one of the highest zoos in the world and you can hand feed one of the largest beards of giraffe in North America. You can even take a ski lift up the mountain to whiteness an amazing view and glide over the top of some exhibits for a unique view into the enclosures. I just absolutely loved it and would highly recommend anyone come visit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Yes....you can take in food. No glass or alcohol. Enjoy.
Yes the Zoo not only has a website with this information but it is also open... for the most part- if we have a rare storm like we did October of 1997 as you will be closed because all of the roads are closed in Denver Colorado Springs and Pablo and everything in between! Would you get snow here sometimes, it is now September and it's been below freezing two or three times snowed already this year, but it was not enough snow to close the zoo.
It depends on what day you're planning to come. If you can plan your trip to be Monday through Thursday, you'll pay a little less. Visit cmzoo.org/prices for all of the details!
Data from a recent guest survey indicates the average amount of time spent at the Zoo is three hours. We hope that helps!
Yes grizzly grill... you can bring your own lunch... we take the sky ride and eat up top

Yes have to use the tram
We're still waiting for Laikipia's calf to be born. During the day, she often still goes out with the rest of the herd to the outdoor yard, but you will definitely see her in the birth stall in the evening and overnight.
Extremely friendly for wheelchair access. Still a decent amount of pushing though. It is on a steep mountain.
