Some will. It depends on the temperature.
We were there yesterday and it rained the entire time. We were able to feed the giraffes. We saw the regular and white lions. Fiona and Bebe the hippos were out and active. We saw Gibbons, monkeys, chimps and gorillas. There was lots more. We didn't see anything in cat alley. The rhinos weren't out. They had signs in the areas saying it was too cold for certain animals. We enjoyed ourselves and saw lots of animals.
Yes, we happened to be there on a rainy day and there were allot of animals out. Giraffes, lions, elephants, bonabos, flamingos, etc. Some were inside, but that was due more to being still too cold for their species to be out. Throughout the zoo in the different shops, they had small animals up close and personal such as a turtle and an Australian hedgehog. The bonabos were out and very vocal. There are several buildings throughout the zoo with exhibits, so there is allot to see. The best part about the rain, not a ton of people so you could take your time and enjoy the animals more.
Yes, best days to go are early and overcast
They can enjoy rain
There will be animals out as long as there is no major danger to them. It is nice to go on rainy days if it isn't storming . Not so crowded.
