Has anyone else had their dogs neck shaved for a heartworm test? Mine has had multiple heartworm test in the past and never has been shaved. He's a husky so very noticeable. Also, they won't let you back there with your pet..

Sometimes they'll shave for a blood draw if they're having difficulty finding the vein (which is likely on a fluffy husky) but I'd say this is a way more common practice with old-school vets
