Once recyclables are placed in City of Lakewood recycling containers, they become City property so that any rebate from the items help pay for hauling. If you need cardboard boxes, you are welcome to stand next to the cardboard table and ask customers for their boxes before they are loaded into the cardboard compactor by the site attendant. Thank you for reusing instead of buying new cardboard boxes!
I've asked that question of the on site attendant and they said no you can't take cardboard on the stack; and like the other person said, they are broken down at that point and there usually aren't many.
There usually aren't many. The ones there are broken down. If you are looking for many of them, I suggest searching "moving boxes" on Craigslist or Next door.
