I had great luck with Continentals on my 2008 Outback. Don't remember the exact name but I'd the one they promoted for SUV use. Great traction and handling and were hardly worn after 20,000 miles when I sold it. New 2018 Outback has Michelins and they don't seem nearly so good.
I would say Michelin. I've had 7 Subarus and that is the best all season tire. Shop around on the price though.

Many like Michelin tires, but sometimes it is just personal preference on brands (and cost) along with online reviews for each tire model.
