Why can I not use our credit that we have built up they say only the primary card holder can use it and I have my name on it to. I do all the shopping there.

That is true you should get your own account just their policy.

I would just take the primary card the next time I shop there.

It's just policy. Just like only the primary borrower can get loan details. I would advise you to get your own credit card if you want to.
