They are from when Hemingway was there
They are descended from the original Hemingway polydactal cats.
According to the tour guide they are also all descendants of Hemingway's Son's original Polydactyl cat Snow White. When we were there we saw lots of Tabbys, grey, orange and even a Calico my Son really fell in love with.
There are different breeds of cats there but they all carry the Polydactyl gene
