Is there a library at Fort De Chartres? If so does it have books and material on the French settlement around the fort in the 1700s?

The bookstore/gift shop was closed down last time Ibwas there. I have never seen a library or anything of the sort in my years going there. There is a small walk through museum with some history.

When I was there this winter it looked like the bookstore was closed but that might have been a seasonal thing, and it might be open in the turist season. The museum office might have some resources available though.

There is not a library at the Fort, but there is a gift shop / bookstore. I recall there being numerous books about period history.
