I recommend going to Bob's & scheduling some range time with one of their instuctors first just to get a feel for what kind of sidearm you want to get. Everyone there is courteous & extremely knowledgeable.
Kurt is dead on but even if you just go in and ask any of tge guys behind the counter they will help. I've never had a bad experience with bob's staff.
They are friendly and welcoming to ladies, so I think your wife would have a positive experience there. I did.
