All the roads we went on were all paved roads. Some parking lots were dirt but 4 wheel drive should not be necessary in the park.

4 wheel drive is not necessary for Glacier Park hiking. Nearly all trail access are from easy turnouts that are maintained by the park and many are serviced by a shuttle. If you plan to hike in the surrounding state parks, many of those roads are much more difficult and I would recommend a high clearance all wheel/4wheel drive vehicle.
