Sometimes you can find specials as well. Like last month most dogs over 6 months were free and all cats were free.
It can vary even more than that. I'm fostering a cat right now. He's less than a year old and he's $75 but if you adopted him at a adoption event the fee would be waived completely. It really just depends :)
Prices depend on the age of the animals. Younger cats/dogs are more expensive than the older ones. For dogs Adoption fee varies, depending upon age, breed, and medical/behavioral conditions. This fee includes: Spay or neuter surgery. Heartworm test on dogs over 6 months. First or more vaccinations. First or more deworming treatment Microchip and Personality evaluation. Note: sometimes adoption fees will be higher if a puppy/dog had a lot of medical costs. For cat adoption fee varies by cat, but the general breakdown is: Cats under 1 year old: $130. Cats over 1-6 years old: $75. Cats 7 years and older: $0 This fee includes: Spay or neuter surgery. FeLV/FIV testing first or more vaccinations. first or more deworming treatment microchip and personality evaluation. Hope that helps.
When is the next free give away
I adopted a 5 year old dog and it was like $185. He's great and I'm very happy I got an adult dog. I fostered him first to see him through severe heartworm and we bonded so well I had to keep him. I highly recommend fostering if you are a new pet owner or are unsure if you can take on a dog full time. Its like test run and if you decide you want to keep your foster you get first dibs. If you get approved to adopt then the dog doesnt become available for adoption for anyone else.
