Go to the APA website and fill out an application. You'll have to do a meet and greet with the animal and then sit down with one of their team members to go over everything. The fee depends varies for each animal. If you're interested in adopting a foster dog you have a similar process but you'll meet with the foster parents instead
My husband and I adopted a sweet dog in july after I found him on the APA website. He was at a foster home so it was easy and stress-free to visit and get to know him. APA folks will do everything to make sure there is a good fit with animal and new home, so just get on website or go visit, APA folks will work hard for you.
If you're looking for a cat, there's a special event tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at 3108 Windsor Rd from noon to 6:00 PM. You can take the pet immediately, under certain conditions.
I definitely recommend checking thr website and having an idea of who you want to see. Then go to apa and let them know who yo want . They will tell you about the 🐕 and see if it will fit in with you. Then they will let you see the dog outside of its cage. If you still like the dog thrn you do paperwork and pay a fee (wich is unique to that 🐕) if you want a Foster 🐕 then you have to contact the Foster to make arrangements to see the 🐕.
You can just go, see the animals (cats or dogs) and fill out an application there in case you decided to adopt. There may be a small fee but it's fair and it all goes to saving more animals. You can spend some time with the animal, then a staff member will tell you more about their story and re-check with you if you think the animal meets your profile and lifestyle. It is a great feeling and super worth it! I definitely recommend you going and at least just visit the animals.
