I called to find out where I am on the waiting list with no success, so how will I know if I'll ever be called or recieve anything for housing.

Unfortunately you must be persistent! To the point of being annoying but not too annoying cuz they have the upper hand. But you must check. Another thing they don't tell you if you do not call every 3 months to check they put you at the bottom of the list.
