I'm from Springfield born and raised there and been to the Beach area and have never known any type of animal to be permitted in the Beach area unless they have new rules call the local state park in Springfield to get the correct answer!
I don't believe dogs - unless they are service related - are permitted at the beach, but they are permitted at the park (keep in mind, there is "park" right next to the beach - the grass actually butts up to the beach and has a perfect place to sit chairs in the shade and is about 50 feer more of a walk to the water).
Dogs are not allowed on the beach. They have signs posted. You can however have your dog in the park.
Yes in special areas
The brach near the campground and as posted no pets.
You can take your dog anywhere in the park. There is no specific beach for dogs.
