It is beautiful year round. The lake is frozen right now. The first weekend of Feb. is a snow day activity. I just checked it is Feb 3rd. No admission is charged. There are venders. Also there will be dog sleds, wagon rides, activities for all. There are charges for these. Hope this helped.

When the ice is thick enough in the bay, you will see ice shanties and ice fishermen all over the bay jigging for perch, walleye or even Muskie. They also have sails on ice skate runners racing across the bay. The hotels next to the Bayfront convention center provide great views.
