Above answers accurate. AMAZING place with beaches, plenty of places for parking your car and walking on beaches or walking paths.
The park is very large and there 11 or so beaches if memory serves. Most or all of those beaches have parking near them and there is parking in some other areas as well. I've never felt unsafe in the park. There is a police presence and most of the beaches have lifeguards in the summer.
The park is safe with park police patrolling regularly. There are multiple beaches and other areas with ample parking.
