Yes, all ages can fish. 17 yrs old and younger do not need a fishing license, and, 18yrs & older must have a freshwater(at least) license to fish in any Texas lake, River, etc. unless it's on private land. *I recommend buying a 1yr Freshwater License-(***YEAR FROM! Pay special attention to the type of one year license that you purchase. They have a one-year license that is a year from the date that you purchase it and then they just have a basic year purchase and that is for the season so it will go from August to August, meaning no matter what month you buy it in it's going to expire in August. That's why I suggested buying the year from the purchase date license. For the price that you pay for a single day license it's well worth your money if you're living in the Fort Worth area to purchase a year license that way you can go fishing anytime you want throughout the year versus just having that one day which costs almost as much as the yr license.)
