No, it's too shallow.
The Black Creek runs from the lake on south / south west toward New Paltz. You can launch a kayak off Rt. 299. If you launch and head left/north, you can only paddle for maybe a mile before coming to a dead end (the creek was stopped by a pair of beaver dams). It’s plenty deep, but it’s narrow. There’s no current and quite a bit of vegetation as well as ample shade from trees. It’s quite pretty. If you head south from the launch point, it’s much more narrow and there’s significantly more vegetation. There’s little tree cover for much so you’ll get quite a bit of sun. But given the water doesn’t “flow” and there’s a LOT of plant life, you’ll want to use a LOT of bug spray.
The creek is only a few inches deep. There is a gravel Beach right on the Hudson, but it's a far walk to carry a boat or canoe.
