We're from Ohio, are there restrications for out of state people buying plants + trees or getting a motel room on New York?

There is no restriction on out of state people buying plants and trees. The only thing to consider is if you bring plants back to your state, your state may have some restrictions on specific type of plants. It is very unlikely that that would be the case though. On top of all that, you don't need to show ID when you buy stuff from here so it doesn't matter that you're from Ohio. As far as motel rooms, you should be fine too. There might be some sort of health declaration you'll have to sign, but that's it. You will be required to wear a mask in the indoor common areas of the motel/hotel I assume.
