What is the best time to go to the museum on the free Thursday? I understand it is a free day so it will be busy but what would you suggest the best time to go when there might be the least amount of people?

I would say the after two pm. The school kids are usually gone.

Honestly depending on how old your kids are, if need be take them during school hours if you want the best experience. You will still be able to see everything and have a an amazing time either way.

Yes I agree around noon and 2pm. During the summer. Only due to school is still in and a lot of classes go there towards the end of the year. However, they do leave around 2pm to get back to school before the end of day.

During lunch time is best to avoid any lines as well as getting the parking spots from folks leaving for lunch.
