The main thing again is to stay on the trails. Remember you are visiting THEIR house. Be respectful and aware. Very seldom are they aggressive. Their bites and stings are defence not offence.
There was a rattlesnake curled up behind a shelter a few weeks ago when I was at the park. Just keep an eye out and don't bother them and they won't bother you.
Never seen any of these...hiked twice and always stayed on trail. Just be aware..during the day would be best.
Have not seen any creatures near the library, have seen regular bees in some of the parks around Goodyear and Avondale. No snakes.
I myself from North Carolina .but been to these mountains for a year now and scariest thing I saw was a bobcat.havnt saw any scorpions, snakes ,spiders or javelinas either
Snakes are not rare but bites are. The snakes try to avoid the trails. So i'd recommend to respect the trail paths. The nature center has more information regarding the species present.
It is Scorpion season right now so be careful if you're out and about during the night. they aren't out during the day.
Not often. I hike extensively here and only see rattlesnakes once or twice a year. The best way to avoid these creatures is to stay on the path.
