A typical Social Security disability case takes about 4-6 months to receive an initial determination. If it is denied, an appeal called a reconsideration must be filed. At the reconsideration level, it typically takes another 2-4 months to receive a decision. If the claim is denied a second time, an appeal called a request for a hearing is filed. The case is then given an opportunity to be heard at an in-person hearing in front of an Administrative Law Judge. It is at this hearing where most disability claims are awarded. It typically takes another 7-10 months for a hearing to be held once the request for hearing appeal is filed. If you have any questions regarding your claim, please give us a call at (248) 352-5700. We handle disability cases from the very beginning through all levels of appeal.

In my case it took 8 months to be declined, then one year for my hearing which I won with back pay. Levine/Benjamin was with me the entire way.

Got mine within about 3 or 4 months from time I called, they made everything so easy.
