We are not a no kill animal center but we are a low kill center. We have not put animals down due to space for several years. Our dog adoption rates have been averaging 95% for the past 4 years and our cat adoption rates since we started our barn cat program have been running around 85-90%.
Yes it is no kill. Not sure about rate of adoption for cats though. Do know they have a few that have been there for over a year.
The shelter will only euthanize an animal for extreme circumstances, as in vicious/dangerous (a true public safety concern) or the animal is medically beyond help & putting it down is the only humane option. They do not kill animals that are there for a long period of time. I'm not certain of the adoption rate but they seem pretty good, although some of the cats have been there a very long time and really want a forever home. Being cooped up in a kennel is no fun.
