Why are staff blatantly rude, obnoxious, and determined to treat customers like they hate people and their jobs? Worst experience in my life!

I agree on this. However it appears to be only n certain areas. I have had exceptional service from some and horrible service from others. I have spoken to Managers numerous times to give positive feedback as well as negative . I think McDonald's needs to stress more to the younger employees that the fact that the attitude of the employee can make or break the success of the restaurant. Also I think more training in the area of how to treat customers is warranted.

Drug problem in this area is out of control

That's how people are raising their kids these days and/or that is the example some parents are setting. No manners, no work ethic.
