The restrooms here are usually unlocked. If they were locked it was most likely due to someone shooting up drugs in one or the other. There has been a few overdoses in these restrooms. Its a sad fact but a true one. While I can't excuse the rudeness of your encounter I can understand where they may have gotten an attitude about people wanting to use their bathrooms..
Ok. I might accept that the dining and bathroom are closed because of homeless. But if they're a paying customer it shouldn't matter. This is why I don't eat out. They don't need my money. And I don't like giving it to them. They are trying to get rid of workers who make marginal wages. It should be enough that the company is profiting. That's not good enough, so they treat their workers like garbage. The employees are not why I avoid eating there. It's because they increased the cost of their food to the point that it's not worth the cost. And if I do eat there, they have to charge for condiments.
