Can you leave and return later same day with daily pass or is it simply an entrance fee if you leave you pay to return same day?

Yes keep your entry. Tiket and show it . you don't have to. Pay again, if you like paranormal hang out in fort. Some awesome pic of orbs with faces you can actually see have been taken. My husband gave tours there and had a few experiences that made him believe in paranormal activity
