The beach area close at 5pm. There's no camping in that area.

There is no overnight camping. Alternative options for tent camping include the local military base (for active and prior service members) in Key West and other campgrounds within 45 minutes drive from Key West. My favorite is Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge, which is very well maintained and surrounded by National Key Deer Refuge property and ocean.
To camp in Florida you need to book through Reseve America. Camping is not offered at Fort Zachary in Key West.
It's just a small beach and I didn't see anywhere to camp.
It didn't appear they have overnight camping but I could totally be wrong. Seems like there aren't a lot of places that you can tent camp anywhere in key west. 🤷
