I don't think we ever get enough snow for snow shoes
We didn't use them. Little slippery but nothing we couldn't walk on in hiking boots
Wear crampons if you are going in any gorges
I agree that some trails can be snowshoed. You may also be limited when attempting some. There are many steps at old mans cave; so you would definitley want to remove snow shoes if you want to experience all of this site. There are many others in the Hocking area that have milder hills and/or little to no steps. You should be fine. Enjoy.
You can. The top trails will have more snow than the more heavily traveled gorge trails. But they are not groomed for it. If it freezes you would do better to have Crampons or some other type of trekking poles and some sort of chains on your hiking boots.
They have maps at every area, showing the trails and how long they are. Should show the areas that have steps, handicap accessible will not be in those ateas with steps.
To many steps......
Think you could.. just take off when doing steps!! Would be fun
Steps on short trails? How would I know which trails have steps?Ok Thanks For Info
Ash cave trail u csn. Old mans cave is amazing in winter n i didnt need no snowshoes
Even if weather permits, there are far too many stairs to make it work well.
I wouldn't see why not. The only problem I'd see is walking down steps.
