This park has the most activities available including basketball courts, baseball fields, and lots of swings and climbing areas. The only downfall of this park is it has two parking lots, one on each side of the activities area. It is pretty easy to loose sight of your kid(s) with this setup. Neither side has any type of wall or fence to keep the young ones wrangled. The large fort has a bench area to sit and watch your kids. There are still plenty of places they can hide and you can't see them unless your watching, so keep that in mind. If you want them in your sight at all times, maybe try the other park. If you walk across the baseball field towards the woodline the river runs through there. But, if you want to experience the river I recommend kackelmackler park. It has sand areas along the river. Just watch for left over fishing gear. I've only found a tackle twice in over 20 years but you never know. But you can park and walk straight back from any parking spot at kackelmackler and you'll hit the river.

I love the memories I've made at this park from playing at it almost daily when I was a kid growing up in the neighborhood to now having children of my own and enjoying it with them. The improvements that have been made to the old wooden playground are nice. Both the wooden playground and the newer playground are great for children of all ages. Bring a lunch and enjoy as a family, there are picnic tables available and shelter houses. We have also enjoyed the softball/baseball fields as well as soccer as we have cheered our children on from the bleachers for rec sports. Bathrooms are available with updated fixtures and concession stand is open during sports.

There was one there today. I'd keep them in a short leash though since there were quite a few people there today.
