When I went a park ranger (i think that's what they are called) told me that if you swim in the water you will be fined $250.00 per person that is in the water and I was there with my WHOLE family so they got more then 3k dollars from us alone. So i recommend you not to swim in the water cause they consider that being "off of the trail"
You're not supposed to, but we did wade a little. Lol
The big water fall people were in the water when we were there, not the other ones though
Signs posted NO Swimming. Fines if caught
The no swimming signs are posted. A lot of people were in the water when we were there 2 weeks ago but supposed to be a fine if caught in the water.
I hiked to upper falls and lower falls. They did have signs posted for no swimming and no wading and I saw no one in the water at those 2 particular places. I also hiked to cedar falls and did not notice any signs posted but was not looking for them either as I was kind of in a hurry at that point. There were several people in the water at that location. Some standing directly underneath the waterfall. As far as the laws regarding getting fined, I do not know for sure about that.
When i was there two weeks ago there was alott of people swimming in the water fall area actually there was about 3 different places where they was swimming and yes there was signs posted saying no swimming
I believe they had "no wading or swimming" signs posted at Old Man's Cave.
I do not believe so.
