I have adopted both a cat and dog from them. It is an excellent shelter. I would go by there (don't call) and ask for the shelter director. I think her name is Tammy. I would explain the situation to her and see what options they can give you. There is also Wash.Co. humane society that might could help you also. I pray you get help.
Check out downtown day center for assistance
I don't think you have to worry about your cat being put to sleep, unless she is very old or very sick. They have very nice rooms for the adult cats. They are not caged/ kenneled like the dogs or kittens. The rooms are at the front of the Shelter with full length glass windows to look out. Plenty of play & climbing equipment & other cats. It's also a glass wall for their rooms facing the front desk, so I am sure they are well taken care of and not lonely. Explain your situation and maybe they can help find her a foster home for 2 months, or notify you if she's going to be adopted. Good luck with everything. I hope you can get immediate help with housing also. God bless you.
