Fishing is definitely great at this pier, mainly fluke comes up during this time in the summer, and now they have a bait store that just opened on the pier, there's also a playground for kids and bathrooms within the area, parking is also within reach, I highly recommend visiting and take friends/family out to try. I know I enjoyed my first time out here and kept coming back.
Right now the water is getting colder so the stripped bass are still out also the last of the fluke. If you don't get a charter boat I would recommend pier 4 in Brooklyn or steeplechase peir in coney island.
