I am turning 65 in May and wanted to go to the Social Security office in downtown Jackson to apply for Medicare. Do I need an appointment or do I just show up and wait? I saw where people tried to call the SS office and waited a long time.

Personal my experience trying to call didn't go well or I was unable to speak with anyone. I think it's best to physically go down to the Federal Building. You will get seen. What you're wanting to achieve may not happen that day, but at least you can leave with the information need to get it started or done

They open at 8 take people at 9. The earlier the better.
