There is a homeless clinic in the VAMC, on the 3rd floor of the E wing. There are certain times you have to be there to be able to get a spot in a shelter. There are some shelters in the city that hold places for veterans going through this program. They can give you more information about housing help as well.
I would check directly with the VA. But if you show up at the VA help desk asking to get an VA card you can talk to the counselor who takes your info about it and they should be able to get you in contact with the people you need to talk to.
There is also the Bill Daniels Veterans Center at 1247 Sante Fe that has a homeless clinic, rise and shine, be there early.
