Gettysburg National Military Park - All questions

Address: 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325, USA

The parks are not closed but the ranger programs are not funded while the government is shut down. That is not to say that the programs do.nit happen, but the rangers will not get paid. If you want to visit the park or visitors center, they are both open.

Not sure

No the government shut down does not affect the park at all .

The battlefield website has a list of what is/isn't open. Visitor Center/Museum is open. Roads are open, but won't be plowed or salted. Bathrooms are closed. Ranger programs are cancelled. Licensed battlefield guides are still working.

Check the website.

Most of the park is just open, i.e. you can drive to the battle field locations yourself. If your looking looking for guides and tours etc, I would imagine they would be closed.

I was at the park 3 weeks ago, eventing everything was open. oh right, government shut down, I would imagine they are closed

Lynn Hanson | Oct 22, 2018

It is safe to assume that many areas, services, etc.would be closed. This would NOT be the time to try to visit expecting the full range of park access and services.

If the post office and bank are closed then usually the parks are.
