When a petition is in place by a family member who is concerned about a love one....who can drop it? Doesn't the petitioner need to be subpoenaed before court before it can be dropped?

Only the petitioner can drop it. Unless the doctor decides that the petition isn't necessary, then the doctor can drop it. If it makes it all the way to desert vista (where mental health court is) and a doctor at dvh decides to drop it, no the petitioner does not have to be notified. When the doctor drops the petition it doesn't actually make it to court

No one can drop a petition but the doctor you see!! A patient can ask to have it dropped and then sign in voluntary. Remember only 2 ways in here. DTO/DTS. It's based on behaviors while your in the facility.
