Why can't you make a appointment at the optical shop? I've been at the V.A 4 times just to try to get my glasses and it takes 4 to 5 hours of waiting till I give up and leave

Go through your primary care doctor, or use the secure messaging feature in the my health vet to try to get an appointment. They're usually pretty packed, most times I am sent to a civilian facility for optical and vision, although they did my actual glasses and the fitting Etc at the VA but I had an appointment for that.
