Is this considered a national or state park? I wanted to take the kids and get some aerial photos, but I couldn't find a definitive answer as to what type of park it is, and I don't want to cause any problems.

It is owned by the Corps of Engineers, operated by the City of Lewisville Parks and Recreation. When fully operational, approx. 800 acres are open to public for hiking, wildlife observation & fishing. 2 campgrounds ( 9 family walk-in sites with picnic table & fire rings at each site, a group site available by prior reservation with a large central fire ring- A potable water source is available nearby) Additional property is adjacent and is being restored to pre-settlement status. Lewisville Independent School District Outdoor Learning Area (LISDOLA) shares the property with Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning area (LLELA). In 1995, the U.S. Department of Education supplied LISD with 84 acres to use for environmental learning, LISDOLA offers a natural place that is close to Lewisville • Walking trails • Trails that loop around • Picnic areas for lunch or snacking • Outdoor drinking fountain • Restrooms • Trail signs and maps

This is a place under Lewisville ISD. We take the school students there on Field Trip. You can call the District and have some information.
