If I have a elderly dog around the age of 10yrs could I bring her to you to take care of her? I'm basically looking for a retirement home for her to live out the rest of her days

Nancy June, I know it's easy to assume the worst. But we don't know the circumstances. Jeff Raney, I'm probably too late to help you, but there are several places in OKC that will take a surrendered dog, and fosters will care for him or her until a Forever Home is found. That said -- cats and dogs are not toys, folks. Like children, they require a commitment to care for them throughout their entire lives - for cats, that can be as long as 18- 20 years now. I don't know as much about dogs. So just a reminder that when we adopt a cat or dog, we *must* carefully consider how long that commitment is for. Never a commitment to be taken lightly, but one that pays off in some of the most unconditional love I have ever seen. They don't ask much from us. I always wished my kitty girls needed me to do something for them, because they brought me so much joy.

Shouldn't your elderly dog be allowed to live out her retirement days with you?

Unfortunately we're not allowed to take animals that are brought us. Especially due to the overlimit capacity we are experiencing.
