Nobody ever returned my phone call and I really needed help. It's ok though. No hard feelings

We went and took our family to try and rescue a dog. Went out and spent 2 hours walking the whole place and looking at all the dogs. We found 2 we loved and we’re super good with our kids. We then filed out an app and waited for an email or call. 5 days later we finally got a call for them to tell us they can’t adopt one out to us because our household wasn’t calm enough with our 3 kids, even though they hadn’t inspected our home like they had asked to do in their app. We have another rescue dog that loves all the love he gets from my kids. I’ve talked to around 30 other people who either have also tried to adopt or are affiliated with other rescues and they all say they don’t really want to adopt them out. The lady I talked to also said they run a non kill shelter so they can live their whole lives out there and be ok but I can’t imagine that’s the goal. Those 2 dogs really missed out on a great home, we have since went to another shelter and found a beautiful little girl who deserved a home. Too bad these people don’t think all their dogs deserve homes. Very very sad. Luckily Bella doesn’t discriminate on people for having kids and actually want to find their dogs good homes! I feel sorry for those animals out there

Yes!!
Hi Brad, Yes - we stay full the majority of the time, so it is always best to call first to see if we have room before making the drive out here. You can also find resources on petfinder.com. If you put your zip code in the rescue and shelter tab, it will pull up all the wonderful resources around you!
Good luck Louise. They weren't willing to help me out at all
Hi Triedge, It is not a crime, but should be done responsibly with dyes that don't harm the animal!
Yes for sure. They actually have a amazon wish list i believe
We do - thank you, Denise!
They do not take personal pets even if they have been fixed . Please contact bella SPCA to see if they can help her out
I think its 35 to 40 but that could have changed since I have
Unfortunately they were at capacity being a no kill shelter. You could call and ask, they might have resources to direct you in the right direction.
They do not take personal pets . Have her contact bella SPCA
The actual animal shelter does this. Contact them
Go on petfinder.com and see if there's any local places that will take them all
They don't.. I already called them about the same thing.
you need to go to davis shelter many dogs and other animals are there and many people alway waiting for adpot
You have to call in the morning. I know we are at capacity for dogs, not sure about cats.
Nancy June, I know it's easy to assume the worst. But we don't know the circumstances. Jeff Raney, I'm probably too late to help you, but there are several places in OKC that will take a surrendered dog, and fosters will care for him or her until a Forever Home is found. That said -- cats and dogs are not toys, folks. Like children, they require a commitment to care for them throughout their entire lives - for cats, that can be as long as 18- 20 years now. I don't know as much about dogs. So just a reminder that when we adopt a cat or dog, we *must* carefully consider how long that commitment is for. Never a commitment to be taken lightly, but one that pays off in some of the most unconditional love I have ever seen. They don't ask much from us. I always wished my kitty girls needed me to do something for them, because they brought me so much joy.
Hi Amanda, We do not hold dogs and cats unless there is a medical reason that requires them to have a bit more time with us.
Hi Amanda, It depends on the age of the kids and what you would like to do while out here. You can watch this video to learn more about the volunteer experience - freetoliveok.org/volunteer
I think it depends on the animal, im not totally dure but you coukd cal and ask. Sorry i couldn't be of more help.
Umm, no. But a skunk wonders around occasionally.
Yes. Free to live is a no kill shelter.
I believe so
