Yeah a $4 fee per day if you are not a member. Yet you can only stay 14 days out of the year so to pay $59 to join their club is just ludacris. Better to just pay the $4 per day.
Similar to good time work time policies, advertising and participation with true numeric valued support behind the scenes gives an individual a better deal.
If you plan on traveling a lot in a given year the membership is worth it, but it doesn't get you anything other than waving the fees at each HI location. Other fees might include luggage storage fee to hold your bags before check in/after check out, if you want to go site seeing. I think its $3.
